Today, we celebrate all the mums, grandmothers, aunties, carers, and mother figures who show up with love, patience, and care every single day.

At playgroup, we see the small but powerful moments you share with your children, the cuddles, the laughter, the learning, and the way you support them as they grow and explore the world.

We also acknowledge that Mother’s Day can mean many different things for different families. For some, it is a day of joy and celebration, for others, it may bring mixed or difficult feelings.

Thank you for being part of your child’s early learning journey and for all the ways you help shape their world with love.

Wishing all our Playgroup SA families a gentle, connected and meaningful Mother’s Day 💛💜💖

Get out the pasta, paint or crayons, and some glue, and enjoy a little creative time together. 😍🖌

Help your child create a special Mother’s Day card for Mum, Grandma, or a special mother figure in their life. Simple materials, little hands, and a little time can turn into a keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.

Placing and gluing the pasta is also a wonderful way for children to build fine motor skills, hand strength and coordination while they create.

Handmade cards are not about perfection. They are about the time spent together and the joy of creating something from the heart. 💛

What do you do to show that playgroup is coming to an end? 👋

At our playgroup, we sing the Goodbye Song.

It is a simple routine that helps children transition, feel secure, and know what to expect as the session wraps up.

Do you have a special end of playgroup ritual? We would love to hear it.

Acknowledgement of country.

Playgroup SA acknowledges and respects the traditional custodians of the South Australian regions upon whose ancestral lands our Playgroups operate on.

We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Elders, past, present and future for they  old the memories, the traditions, the culture and the hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

We also pay respect to the cultural authority of Aboriginal people from other areas of South Australia and Australia and acknowledge their deep feelings of attachment and Spiritual relationship to Country.

Playgroup SA recognises the pain and suffering caused by past policies to Aboriginal Australians and the impact this has had on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people today.

At Playgroup SA we are committed to a future of reconciliation, we believe that there is much knowledge and wisdom to be gained by Aboriginal Australians, by the learning of Country, land, cultures, truths and realities.
