Ready, Set, Play is a program that is embedded into playgroups to facilitate inclusion, child development and linkages into other services.
Who
- Families with children aged 0–5
- Parents and carers who would benefit from a supportive, inclusive playgroup environment.
- Parents and caregivers who would like to chat informally about their child’s development with a child development specialist.
What to expect
- A weekly playgroup with a friendly coordinator to welcome you when you arrive.
- A specialised staff member will be available to chat and answer questions about your child’s development or assist with linking you into other services.
- A structured routine with free play, group time, stories, music and sensory activities.
- Inclusive supports will be available throughout the environment, including:
- Sensory play options
- AAC play boards
- A visual timetable
- Other helpful visual supports
- A quiet withdrawal tent for children who need a break

When & where
Ready, Set, Play playgroups are currently offered in metropolitan South Australia. Groups usually run weekly during school terms in community venues, children’s centres, or other family-friendly spaces. Please contact rachael.ward@playgroupsa.com.au for information on current locations.
How to join
Ready, Set, Play playgroups are free to attend. Registration is simple, and families can join at any time during the year. You can complete the following Expression of Interest if you’re a family or would like to refer a family to these playgroups.
